About Rolling Home Lab
Rolling Home Lab was built for one kind of reader: people living in, traveling in, or dreaming about RVs and vans who want straight answers about gear — without the sales pitch.
What we cover
We focus on accessories, solar, and power systems — the equipment that makes life on wheels work. Solar panels and kits, portable power stations, surge protectors, water regulators, leveling gear, sewer kits, tire monitoring, and the other unglamorous essentials that keep a trip from going sideways. We deliberately don't review RVs or vans themselves; that's a different job, and we'd rather do our lane well.
How we make recommendations
Our guides are research-based roundups. We compare published manufacturer specifications, read owner manuals and warranty terms, and pull in feedback from full-timers and van lifers who use the gear every day. We don't claim to have hands-on tested every product — when we recommend something, we'll tell you exactly what the recommendation is based on.
Every guide includes honest pros and cons, plus "who should skip" notes. If a product is overkill for your setup, we'd rather say so than sell you something you don't need.
How we stay honest
- No fabricated reviews, testimonials, or "lab-tested" scores.
- No electrical or installation how-tos — for wiring and installs, we point you to qualified RV technicians and manufacturer guidance.
- Clear affiliate disclosure on every page with a buy link (see our affiliate disclosure).
Who's behind it
We're a small editorial team of road-life enthusiasts and careful researchers. Guides are written and maintained by the Rolling Home Lab editorial team — no fake author personas, no invented credentials.
